Different from a peach because of its smooth skin, a nectarine is firm on the outside but has a mouthwateringly sweet centre which makes it very popular.

Simply just enjoy the sweetest of the stone fruits whenever you fancy a snack.

Store at room temperature until ripe. To hasten ripening, keep nectarines in a paper bag and check daily.
